Homeless Awareness Weekend.
(Also known as “Hobo Weekend.”) Also called “knights of the railways,” or “the gentlemen of the road,” hobos traveled from place to place, by railroad, in search of work. Hobos were a result of the Great Depression and they helped our economy recover by filling gaps in the labor force. Since 1900 – still today – the National Hobo Convention meets in August every year. We would like to honor those hard-working men with our “Hobo Weekend.” All proceeds to benefit the Success House, in Sodus. 10% off for campsites for anyone donating gently used clothing or non-perishable food items. 50/50 raffle.

Come enjoy some fall camping. Call for special group rates and activities for scouts or 4-H. Enjoy the fall foliage! Pick your own apples. Visit the local winery: Thorpe Vineyard. Visit Alasha Farms, for you-pick apples, or Orchard View Farm Market, for a variety of fall fruits and vegetables.
Friday
Pick up your scavenger hunt list at the store.
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM … Free kids’ mini golf.
8:00 PM … Wagon rides (weather permitting).
Saturday
9:30 AM … LBC Walking Club meets at the rec hall – everyone’s welcome.
11:00 AM … Carmel apples, followed by a free kids’ craft.
2:00 PM … Apple launch (with our giant slingshot). See what you can hit!
5:30 PM - Ethnic Pot Luck Dinner – bring a dish to pass, and write down your recipe for the LBC Cook Book. Remember, hot dogs, apple pie, and pizza are ethnic, too. Everyone is welcome. There’s always plenty of food.
6:30 PM … Turn in your scavenger hunt findings.
7:30 PM … Bingo.
